A native of Jerusalem, Israel, Liora Manné moved to Atlanta with her family at age 16. After graduating from GeorgiaStateUniversity, she completed a Masters Program in Textile Design and Engineering at North CarolinaStateUniversity. Liora Manné moved to New York and began to design textiles for the fashion industry, but as her career progressed, she longed to use her talent as a textile designer in a unique manner.
Inspired by the exploration of new mediums and materials, Liora Manné developed a revolutionary process called Lamontage in which acrylic fibers are intricately structured by hand and then mechanically interlocked by needle-punching to create a nonwoven textile. Lamontage is based on the idea of versatility; breaking the boundaries of traditional textiles and creating a unique textile with unlimited possibilities.
Liora Manné continues to push the boundaries of textile design and application by always developing new products and designs. The Montique, Dimensions and Lumina processes led to the addition of lighting, home accents, handbags and fashion accessories to her line of products, while her distinctive, flat-format Lamontage rugs, carpeting, wallcovering, upholstery and home furnishings continue to change face of the textile, interior design and architecture industries.
In 1997, Liora Manné entered into a licensing agreement with Trans-Ocean Inc. to design rugs in more conventional mediums. Her fashionable designs include exquisite hand-knotted rugs, a wide range of hand-tufted and machine-loomed rugs, as well as EVERYWEAR™ indoor/outdoor rugs. Liora Manné’s designs are recognized for their multidimensional texture, subtle color blending and fashion-forward colors. For more Liora Manné rug designs visit www.transocean.com To order any of these rugs please call (212) 989-2732 ext.112
